San Diego Museums

San Diego’s rich variety of museums reflects the diverse culture and interests of the region.

San Diego County is pleased to offer over 95 museums, representing an extensive array of collections including fine arts, history, anthropology, transportation,  classics versus contemporary and science. Over 25 facilities are represented by the San Diego Museum Council and 15 museums are located within Balboa Park.

Balboa Park is often referred to as “the Smithsonian of the West.”
