San Diego’s Little Italy Carnevale
This Saturday, February 13, 2010 the streets of Little Italy will come alive once again with the celebration of the 7th annual Little Italy Carnevale, which mirrors Carnevale in Venice. It’s a festive evening of shopping, dining, entertainment, and people dressed in traditional Venetian Carnevale regalia. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the charm of Little Italy.
The Carnevale will be held from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on India Street between Hawthorn and Cedar Streets. Pick up your Passaporto di Carnevale at the Piazza Basilone located on the corner of India and Fir Streets. The Passaporto will guide you through all of the participating businesses as well as the locations and performance times for the various vignettes of entertainment. Check out the list below…
Come down Saturday morning between 9am – 1:30pm to get your Passaporto di Carnevale stamped. Completed Passaportos can be entered to win a “Day in Little Italy” prize package.
Carnevale is popular with Little Italy residents. La Vita, Doma and Aperture are located within the Little Italy neighborhood with close proximity to the festivities.
This is a great event for the whole family. Last year, Carnevale drew over 12,000 attendees and this year will likely draw a festive crowd. Bring your family and enjoy delicious Italian food, fabulous entertainment, festive costumes and shopping.
