San Diego’s Hullabaloo Performs for Stroller Strides
Hullabaloo performed for the Stroller Strides Moms and kiddos yesterday (Monday, May 24, 2010) at Tidelands Park in Coronado. What a beautiful day for an outdoor concert. A fabulous time was had by all – thanks Hullabaloo!
For those of you unfamiliar with Hullabaloo, they are a wonderful music duo who performs amazing children’s music. As they state on their website, their music is designed for kids but also pleasing to their parents’ ears. You will hear traces of twang, funk, rock, folk and blues in their songs and the lyrics are catchy, and down-right hilarious in some of the songs!
A few of my favorites are “Sippy Cup” – “…a grown-up Sippy cup, we go to Starbucks to fill it up…” and “High roller,” which makes reference to a stroller with 3.5 inch rims! Other faves include “Polite Pete,” “Mama Llama,” “Little Bird”…and too many more to list.
In addition to their own creations, the duo also sings the classics such as “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.” They bring mats for the kids to dance on, scarves, maracas and more so that the kids can sing, dance and interact during the show.
The duo consists of Steve, a folksinger and songwriter, and Brendan, a rock ‘n’ roll drummer. They “write songs that make kids laugh, think, sing, dance, clap and stomp their feet.”
Their headquarters is in Del Mar, and they play all over San Diego County and throughout the U.S. They can be seen at a variety of venues, events, charity events and private performances. Their Events Calendar is posted on their website. Check them out! Your kids will love them…and you will too!
