1/3 – 1/4 – Western Surfing Association Championship Tour | Oceanside Harbor South Jetty | 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. | Surfing competition to qualify competitors to the West Coast Championship, US Championships and prime events. Sponsored by Western Surfing Association.
1/10 – Annual San Diego Resolution 5k & 15k | De Anza Cove, Mission Bay | Race begins at 7:30 a.m. | A scenic Mission Bay Park run benefiting charities to keep the environment healthy

1/17 – Kids Marathon Mile | LEGOLAND Resort, One LEGOLAND Dr, Carlsbad | 7:00 a.m. registration, 8:00 race starts | Moms, dads, and big kids are invited to join the fun in this non-competitive 1-mile run/walk through LEGOLAND® California.

1/18 – 35th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade | Harbor Drive Embarcadero, Downtown San Diego | Parade starts at 2:00 p.m. | One of the largest celebrations of its kind in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The parade will include floats, bands, drill teams, fraternities & various organizations, churches youth groups.
