Cheese Shop | 627 4th Ave San Diego, CA
If your looking for a down home place to sit down, grab a sandwich and a hot bowl of soup, this is the place to go . The Cheese Shop is an interesting place with decor of the 60’s and music to go along with the era. It is located in the bustling Gaslamp Quarter and is one of the best restaurant options for lunch in the neighborhood.
San Diego Cheese Shop
Some friends, Mike and Linda Watorski, told me I just had to come to the Cheese Shop and have a meal. Well, they were right, the food is GREAT, the service was prompt and friendly and the menu left me with plenty of tasty options.
I ordered a Ruben Sandwich and it was one of the best Rubens I’ve ever eaten. Corn Beef stacked high with sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and thousand island dressing on grilled rye bread accompanied with a dill pickle and french fries. What a feast. You can also get the Ruben with mustard and red onion if you don’t want the thousand island dressing.
The Cheese Shop is a Great place to come for lunch if your hungry; you’ll leave stuffed. Serving San Diego since 1972 – Owned by Sandy & Tom Schutz – Dine-in or delivery – Breakfast or Lunch.
