10th Anniversary Memorial Service- 9/11

A special ceremony honoring the 10th anniversary of the fallen heroes of 9/11 will be held on board of the USS Midway Museum this Sunday.  The event will be open to the public and will begin at 2:30 pm.  Boarding will begin at 1:30pm, and guest are encouraged to arrive early for this special event.

This historic event will include:

• An 11-star wreath laying ceremony
• A US Navy flyover
• A reading of the names accompanied by a tolling of the bells
• A twin helicopter flyover
• A twenty one gun salute along with additional tributes
• Presentation of the colors by the United States Marine Corps
• Honor Guards from SDPD, SDFD, and more
• Special Guest Speakers:  Mayor Sanders and more
• Water display show by the San Diego Harbor Patrol

All guests are invited to the post ceremony reception located on the Flight Deck.  Food, drinks and entertainment will be provided.  With San Diego’s rich military heritage, this certainly will be a memorial service to be remembered…
