The San Diego Zoo
You Belong at the Zoo
The World Famous San Diego Zoo is located just minutes from downtown San Diego in the fabulous Balboa Park. The San Diego Zoo is one of the largest and most dynamic animal parks in the world with over 4,000 animals of more than 800 species. It is also one of the few zoos in the world that houses the giant panda from China.
A day at the San Diego Zoo is a Fun Filled Family Event
The San Diego Zoo is privately operated by the nonprofit Zoological Society of San Diego on approximately 100 acres of parkland leased from the City of San Diego. The Zoo sits on a huge canyon and many of the animals are on exhibit in an environment similar to their own native habitat.
The San Diego Zoo features excellent animal shows, bus tours, a sky rail ride system, restaurants and park areas for taking a break in the middle of the day. The zoo is truly an impressive park and is a favorite for children and adults from all over the region, country and world.
