The “Mardis Gras in the Gaslamp festival” is in downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter tonight for the celebration known as Fat Tuesday. The event is 21 and up and the tickets are $20. They can be bought online or at the event. I recommend buying them online so you don’t have to wait in line.

The Mardis Gras party is tonight from 6 p.m. to midnight and features beautiful people, live music, DJs, theatrical performances, disco skaters, go-go dancers, a dance-off competition, parade floats, food and tasty adult beverages to fuel the fun.

There will be two parades, one at 7:30 and one at 10pm. The beads will be flying so come join in and enjoy the fun. Bring your smile, a good attitude and enjoy one of downtown San Diego’s best events of the year.

Fun Times in the Gaslamp just below the Gaslamp Condos

According to the Gaslamp Quarter Association, the cast of the upcoming movie “Hot Tub Time Machine” is scheduled to serve as grand marshals. This group of actors including John Cusack, Rob Corddry & Craig Robinson are a crack up.

Fifth Avenue has been closed all day and all of the perpendicular streets will be closed at 4pm this afternoon. Owners of condos at Gaslamp City Square, Alta San Diego Condos and Trellis Condos San Diego are in for a wild night.
