San Diego Wine and Canvas

What better way to get your creative juices flowing than with San Diego’s Wine & Canvas?!! As I was walking thru Downtown San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter with my family this evening, I happened upon one of these events at Taste & Thirst on Fourth Avenue. It looked like the participants were having a great time and creating some pretty impressive art pieces too!

So what is a Wine and Canvas event? It’s a 2 ½ – 3 hour event (with frequent breaks) with an artist guiding you step-by-step in replicating a fabulous piece of art. And did I mention there’s wine?!! It’s a fun and social experience that allows you to drink a little wine, visit with and make new friends, and paint. You do not need to have any art experience.

Prices range from $35-$45 depending on the night and painting. This includes the Artist, canvas, paint, brushes, easels and aprons. All locations offer great drink specials including the Wine & Canvas Studios. These events often sell out, so check the website calendar for availability and book in advance.

Taste & Thirst on Fourth Avenue , Rock Bottom Brewery in Downtown San Diego, Alfonso’s of La Jolla, Mosaic Wine Bar in North Park, and Fifty Seven Degrees are just a few of the San Diego locations offering a Wine & Canvas event this April 2012. A San Diego Wine & Canvas Studio is also in the works and should be opening soon.

Little did I know but Wine & Canvas is not unique to San Diego, but also has locations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, and more! For a complete list of locations, check out their website.

In addition to Wine & Canvas, they also offer events for kids called Cookies & Canvas!  This is a fabulous idea for kids’ birthday parties in San Diego and private events!

If you’re like me, you’re always looking for new, fun things to do in San Diego! Wine & Canvas is just that – it’s fun, it’s social, and you’ll have something to show for it at the end of the night! Book your event and let you inner artist out!
