Nighttime Zoo at the San Diego Zoo
It’s officially summer and summertime fun is kicking into high gear. A great way to enjoy these longer days and warm temps is to head over to The San Diego Zoo, as it begins it’s summer hours and extended entertainment schedule starting June 22. null, as it’s called, runs through Labor Day, September 2nd and includes Australian entertainment, music, activities, shows and contests. Summer hours are 9:00 am until 9:00 pm and feature many null such as:
- Nighttime Zoo: Koalafornia Dreamin’ Opening Ceremony
Location: Front Street Plaza
Times: 8:55 a.m.
Experience our amazing free flight macaws as we count down to the zoo opening. - Koalafornia Boardwalk
Location: Australian Outback
Where Australian beaches meet the west coast! Grab a snack, relax and enjoy what the boardwalk has to offer! - Australiana
Location: Hunte Amphitheater
Times: 2 & 5 p.m.
Aussie lore comes to life through acrobatic and aerial acts.

The newest exhibit, Conrad Prebys Australian Outback, features wombats, wallabies, kookaburras, koalas & more and provides outdoor perches for each of the Zoo’s 21 koalas – including three joeys, which range in age from 8 to 10 months old.
