San Diego May 2016 Event Calendar

5/1 – Bridal Bazaar  |  Del Mar Fairgrounds, 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd, Del Mar | 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. | $12 |  At the Bridal Bazaar you’ll find aisle after aisle of inspiration for your wedding.  Nearly 200 of San Diego’s most trusted wedding professionals will be on hand.

5/5 – Cincoteca Dos | The Headquarters Downtown | Starts at 3:30 om | Cinco de Mayo celebration featuring live music from TJ’s Nortec Collective along with special guests Javiera Mena and Gepe.

5/5 – 5/8 – Gator by the Bay Festival | Spanish Landing Park at Harbor Island, San Diego Bay | Refer to website for schedule | The event features 25 bands on five stages, dance lessons, Cajun cooking demonstrations and delicious crawfish.

5/6 – 5/7 – Mother and Daughter Teas | Westgate Hotel | 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm | $30-45 | Guests will indulge in a delightful array of delicious tea sandwiches and pastries as well as scones paired with traditional teas and a glass of champagne.

5/6 – Friday Night Liberty @ NTC  |  Liberty Station, 2640 Historic Decatur Road | 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. | FREE |  Open artist studios, galleries, performances and events throughout NTC at Liberty Station’s Arts & Cultural District.

5/6 & 5/13 – Race Legal | Qualcomm Staduim, 9449 Friars Road, San Diego | 6:00 p.m. – midnight | Race Legal, the safer and sanctioned track alternative to illegal street racing, was developed with one goal in mind. Saving the needless loss of young lives to an illegal street race gone bad is RaceLegal.com’s mantra.

5/7 – 6/12 – Seven Seas Food Festival | Seaworld – 500 Seaworld Drive | 11:00 am to close | Included with Park Admission | Set sail on a taste adventure at SeaWorld’s new Seven Seas Food Festival. Sip and sample delicious international foods, unique wines and craft beers. You’ll experience flavorful new taste pairings from savory to sweet to totally unexpected.

5/7 – Chocolate Festival San Diego Botanic Garden |  San Diego Botanic Garden, 230 Quail Gardens Drive, Encinitas |10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. | Delectable chocolate tastings, demonstrations, chocolate fountain, children’s activities (ages 2-12), and a variety of Mother’s Day gifts.

5/7 – 5/8 – Fiesta Old Town Cinco de Mayo | Old Town San Diego | Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. | FREE | Live entertainment, kids area & stage, delicious food, beer garden and more.

5/14 – 13th Annual Space Day Celebration  |   Air & Space Museum | 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Kids 17 and under are FREE with a paid adult admission |  Space Day will feature demonstrations, giveaways, and hands-on activities with local and national space experts.

5/14 – 68th Annual Ocean Beach Kite Festival | Sunset Cliffs Blvd at Nimitz | 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. | FREE |  Make and decorate your own kite / Get free materials, instructions, and help with kite making / Prizes awarded for best decorated kites.

5/20 – Bike to Work Day  |  Join thousands of bike riders throughout the San Diego region on the morning of Bike to Work Day.

5/21 – Festival of Arts in North Park | Located throughout the neighborhood shopping district of North Park |  10:00 am – 10:00 pm  | FREE  | On the forefront of the art scene, the SDCCU Festival of Arts in North Park celebrates all types of art forms including a live art element. There will be something for everyone, including the kids.

5/21 – Bacon and Barrels | Embarcadero Marina Park South | 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. | See website for ticket prices |  The All-day Festival with bacon inspired dishes and libation booths and all-inclusive and unlimited tastings as well as live music and live chef demos


5/18 – 5/28 – 5th Annual San Diego Surf Film Festival |  Refer to website for schedule and locations | The San Diego Surf Film Festival welcomes everybody to come celebrate the passion that we all share for simply being in the ocean.

5/29 – 9/11 – Coronado Summer Concert Series | 601 Orange Avenue, Coronado | Sundays at 6pm | Sunday concerts in the park are signature elements of the Coronado experience where friendships and family memories are made.
